Description
Put in you canoe or kayak near the spillway at the southern end.  You will encounter some downed trees in the first few tenths of a mile a this end.  Continue north and you will encounter a large section of lilly pads if it is summer.  At the northern end you will pass under a power line crossing.  In the spring you may be able to continue north into the small stream that leads to Goodnough Dike.
After you are done with your paddle, consider visiting the Quabbin Dams and Park. Stop at the visitors center and learn some history. The Quabbin Visitor Center is open and staffed  seven days a week through most of the year from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (413-323-7221) Quabbin related materials, including brochures, maps and books, are available at the Center, which is operated in cooperation with the Friends of Quabbin, Inc., a non-profit organization whose mission is to support the programs of the Visitor Center.
